Suggested ways of using the
service
There are several ways of using the service:
For the pupils who might extend their understanding
For example when students are studying plate tectonics and have quickly grasped the
relationship between volcanic activity and plate boundaries - could they investigate why
Hawaii is one of the most volcanic places on Earth.
For individuals to be challenged in their thinking
For example when students are studying so called less economically developed countries -
they might explore the purpose of classifying countries.
For pupils' who wish to explore the tentative nature of geographical knowledge
For example when students are global warming - they might pose a question around the
uncertainties of our knowledge of global climate change.
For groups of students to devise questions
For example when students are studying any particular subject, they should focus on asking
questions - what makes a good geographical question?
