National Teaching Award

Congratulations to Janet Carnell who received the Best Teacher award for the West Midlands Area.  The event has been reported in The Guardian on Tuesday June 27 and The Sentinel.  The report in both papers are glowing with Janet’s Headteacher Dr Charles Freeman saying” She is utterly dedicated to the subject.  She gets the best our of every child, engaging even the disaffected.  She is extraordinarily talented yet self effacing.”

Janet has contributed to our CPD programme and it is hoped that she will feature in next years also.

Janet will now automatically go through to the National Finals to be held in the Autumn term and we wish her every success in getting the recognition for her hardwork, dedication and unwavering determination to improve the Art education for the pupils under her care.

Janet's inspiring best practice is also sought after by Qualifications and Curriculum Authority she has been asked to advise them  on art for key stage 3.

GNVQs and vocational A levels are hands-on courses that let you sample things relating to a chosen vocational area.

Students like the fact that they're a mix of assignments and tests and that the final result doesn't depend on one end-of-year exam.

Take a GNVQ or vocational A level and you'll also learn about employment opportunities.

On this website you'll find lots of information on what you can do after one of these courses. But don't take our word for it, read about what previous students have done, how they found the courses and what employers think
