Art Competition:

From time to time we are provided with details of local, regional or national art competitions. We recognise that schools have detailed plans to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and therefore do not advocate being driven by others agendas. However we list here other opportunities that can provide your youngsters with "additional challenges "!

ARTROOM...The Saatchi Gallery The Saatchi Gallery
where kids can make & display art online
CAN

Kids can make their own art online and load it onto their own page on the Saatchi Gallery website, for free.

Children can display up to eight images on their site and if they wish can use the page to tell visitors about themselves - their friends, family, hobbies, pets, likes and dislikes, favourite films, music etc.

There are three age categories for children to enter their pictures: 6-10, 11-15 and over 15

Children from all over the world are free to join and every month a winner from each category will be selected and their work will be presented in Your Gallery magazine.More...

Young Pavement Artist Competition  - The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign

This annual event is an innovative arts initiative that engages schools, youth organisations and community groups, encouraging them to co-ordinate opportunities for young people, whatever their ability, to meet, draw, unlock their imagination, be creative and have fun, as well as encouraging children to develop their drawing skills.

The competition is open to all young people aged 4 to 19 years, and their challenge is to capture in chalk their interpretation of the chosen environmental theme which this year is the Arctic and Antarctic.

We have created this website to assist our supporters in running the Young Pavement Artists Competition. The information provided on their site:

  • helps you set up and organise your own local competition event
  • advises you on judging the art
  • tells you about taking part in the national competition
  • provides advice on using chalks for participants
  • provides fundraising tips
  • provides you with FREE curriculum linked lesson plans that explore muscular dystrophy and supports Science and Citizenship for 5-16 year olds
  • provides FREE activity ideas for 4-19 year olds that explore the competition themes of the Arctic and Antarctic to stimulate children’s creativity in the development of their pavement art.
