About the DirectoryStaffordshire Children and Lifelong Learning, and the County Council's Arts and Museums Service have worked together to produce the "Staffordshire Artists Directory" which can be used to access resident artists, for work in schools and communities throughout the county. The directory features nearly 80 artists across all art forms. For any artists to appear in this directory it has been conditional that he/she should provide documentary evidence of public liability insurance of £2 million (January 1999). All registered artists have also been police checked for criminal convictions (April-June 1999). You are advised to satisfy yourself that this level of protection is current at the time of recruiting an artist to deliver any service within your organisation. The index at the front of the directory lists artists in alphabetical order, together with their Artform(s). The Staffordshire Artists Directory then sets out a profile for each artist to include:

The "Staffordshire Artists Directory" provides you with access to individual artist from across the Midland region. Arts organisations can also be a useful provider where specific skills can be delivered. Most organisations will have their own database of artists to draw upon. It has not been possible to include all of these but you are advised to ensure that individuals from these organisations have public liability insurance and have been police checked.
