B.E.A.R.S. stands for Blackfriars Education Access and Resource Scheme.
The main aim of the B.E.A.R.S. group is to provide a structured learning environment, where parents and carers can develop skills and confidence and become instrumental in their child’s development. The group helps to promote the development of looking, listening, understanding, speech and social skills through the child’s own activity. As well as providing a vital opportunity for parents/carers to gain support and exchange experiences with others. Conductive Education is an educational method of teaching children with motor disabilities (mainly Cerebral Palsy). For some children within the group this method of helping them to become more independent, on a variety of levels, will be used.
