December
2003 Earthquake in Bam, Iran
This is a really tragic story - and the death toll keeps rising - my
heart goes out to Iranian relatives who are bereaved. If you can have a
minutes silence for them on your first day back at school, there are so
many messages that will go out. We value the lives of people.
Make it more powerful and moving with pictures from the BBC News and

reported to have had some effect too.
The BBC as well has having good images has some simple
but effective explanations. We wish our friends in Saxony and Dresden in
particular well.

2001Quake
hits India and Pakistan
We
would like to express our sadness that the earthquake has claimed lives in
India and Pakistan.
Nearly 500 people have been killed in a devastating earthquake that has
shaken north-west India and parts of Pakistan. Nearly all the victims from
the quake - measuring between 6.9 and 7.9 on the Richter scale - are from
the western Indian town of Bhuj, in the state of Gujurat, and the nearby
city of Ahmedabad.
