There is an urban design exhibition which features the developments at the canal wharf in Walsall, Digbeth and Worcester. http://www.rudi.net/news.cfm which is a paid for site now.

4. Future Favelas - Alleyne's High School offer this animation of the development of informal settlements, shanty towns, squatters or bustees to show how people manage to improve their communities and be self reliant.
