Living in the Desert:
A Living Graph Thinking Skills activity

Roger Bishop from Haywood High School in Stoke created this Living Graph activity using the graph below. Pupils have to analyse the graph and work out where the statements might be best placed, giving reasons for their decisions. Cut and paste the graph and the sentences into a word processor to make a worksheet for your pupils. You can download the data in Excel format here.

  1. Look at the climate graph above.
  2. Try to work out which month fits each of the ten sentences best. Talk to other people on your table about it.
  3. Write down your reasons for choosing the month you did
