How are their lives connected?

This mystery is based on an article in the Guardian in 2002. A photo of Abdul is shown growing opium. The article is here but not the photo - sorry! We use this a starter - we ask the students what is happening in the photo ? This mystery is used as part of a short topic on the 'Geography of Drugs', with Year 9, but could also be used in a unit on crime, interdependence, globalisation, farming etc.
