Developing your documentation

Does your school documentation include:

  • a policy statement?
  • an overview of the key stage - which includes one statement about the core purpose of each of the units of work?
  • matrix plans for the individual units of work?
  • a develpment plan with short, medium and long term objectives for the subject? These could include targets.
  • the strategy for assessment at each key stage
  • contributions to wider goals of education including Citizenship and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education.
  • contributions to Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
  • a parents’ and governors’ guide to geography in the school

  • Lessons plans derived from the matrix
  • An audit of geographical skills developed through the key stage
