Pupils engage with many different localities on a daily basis via television. In this enquiry, pupils are asked to consider how "real" the virtual places of "soapland" are in comparison with where they live.

This enquiry is suitable for KS2 and younger KS3 mixed ability students.

The purpose of the enquiry is to develop: · a more complex understanding of the differences between selected forms of living space. · fieldwork skills, observation and recording. · extended writing from observation of virtual image

It would be a useful enquiry introducing students to fieldwork techniques prior to a study visit.
