National Parks

New smells surround the air you breathe
And birds sing a sweet song
The trees sway in the breeze
I love this place where I am now
Oh the hills the lakes the moors
Now I feel true harmony
And now we head for valleys galore
Life blooms in this peaceful place

Pray to god that this may last
And our children feel these feelings too
Roll in the grass and the greenery
Keepers work to keep this right
So do me a favour and do your bit too

The Environmental Problem

Have you ever thought about the world,

And what it’s done for you?

Have you ever thought that we’re wasting it,

And you could help it too?

We could recycle many things and also re-use,

There’s a lot of the worlds resources that soon were going to loose,

Use different sources of energy and save a bit of oil,

And stop the global warming so the planet doesn’t boil.

We need to change our habits,

And try to start going more green,

We should try to be on the earth’s side,

And stop being really mean.

The Greenhouse Effect

Everyday our earth gets warmer,

Soon it’ll be like living in one big sauna.

Ice caps are melting and sea levels are beginning to rise,

So why won’t people grow up and be wise?

Atmospheric gases are building up quickly,

All because we pollute so thickly.

We make money by burning fossil fuels and oil

But it’s our world we’re going to spoil!

There’s been a 20% increase in the last century,

And a 40% increase in this one eventually.

I think this is unnaturally hurried

But most people aren’t even worried!

Carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane,

Wrecked crops and acid rain.

The list of disadvantages never ends

And if our earth survives, on us it depends

The rain forest
The rain forest is so pretty it almost makes you weep,

to lose it in one fell sweep,

so save it now.

Do not look away and say it will be back some other day,

protest now not some later day, or we will waste away from lack of oxygen.

Pollution
It starts as a fire roaring deep down,

Then it spreads and starts to grow all round,

and flowing out of chimneys, spirals into the air.

Blacker than a thundercloud.

More deadly than a hurricane.

Pollution in its gaseous form can spread showers of acid rain.

It poisons living creatures, it stunts growth and birth,

it dissipates the o-zone layer, it suffocates mother earth

What are we doing? Humans are just fools,

polluting the environment by burning fossil fuels.
