Historical background of the site (including the political aspect of the Soviet run mine) running up to reunification in 1990.

1990 – What problems does the area face?

Decision making exercise – Using a number of examples select the best solution for the area.

2000 – What is the area like now? (Annotated map)

Ongoing social implications of the changes over the last 10 years.

Photos of the Hammerberg waste rock pile from the WISMUT – An Ecological challenge are excellent.

I also have a number of photos taken around Schlema to show the new facilities such as the Spa pool complex, environmental development etc.
