Coasts Assignment No 1 Tidal Surges

1. Describe the main causes of tides and why they differ from place to place. You need to know about the corriolis effect - you should have done this inY12 in your weather and climate topic. If not research it!   

2. What are the factors that contribute to tidal surges taking place? You need to refer to the effects of low pressure weather systems over water such as cyclones and depressions as well as others.   

3. Case Study: From examples studied - you can use the example from page 27 of the A2 text book, which concentrates on the 1953 storm surge to hit Britain  or the Bangladesh one from the video and information gained from the Internet - the 1991 storm surge is a good example
