Help with searching

The text search engine allows you to search for key words in questions and the replies. It allows you to use Boolean searches containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped in brackets. For example:

river hydrology

finds documents containing 'river' or 'hydrology'

river or hydrology

same as above

river and hydrology

finds documents containing both 'information' and 'retrieval'

river not hydrology

finds documents containing 'information' but not 'retrieval'

(river not hydrology) and WAIS

finds documents containing 'WAIS', plus 'information' but not 'retrieval'

web*

finds documents containing words starting with 'web'
