F What factors affect
climates of Europe?
Why do places in different parts of
Europe have different climates?
A pupil reached the following conclusions about
the climate in different parts of Europe:
- It got colder as you went South
- Spitzbergen had fairly low temperatures in the
winter
- The West of the continent had much wetter
conditions than the East
- mountain areas were warm and dry
- In the South there were very dry summers
- Towards the East there was a large range of
temperature [range of temperature is the difference between the summer and
winter temperatures]
Unfortunately his younger brother changed a few of
the words so he wouldn't do as well as he deserved!
- Rewrite [or
retype] the above six statements correctly as they should have appeared.
- Explain the reasons for
each of these statements. You can work in a group [up to six people].
Whatever you do you must make sure your work is really full with diagrams to
make things clearer. You must put the ideas into your own words and explain
the ideas to the rest of your group.
Below are some links which might help you; You
will have to decide which link explains which statement!
