SAFTAS 2007
We packed them in at the Gatehouse Theatre for the 2007 SAFTAS Awards
Ceremony. At least one school took the opportunity to arrive in style in a
stretch limo!

Self-Review
Framework
Following a "soft-content review" there are some small but
significant changes to the ICT self-review framework. These mainly involve
re-wording to aid clarity but some aspects have been removed or merged
with others. As a result there is some renumbering. More
details on the SRF and ICT Mark page.

The DCSF Cyber-bullying guidance was launched Friday 21 September. This is part
of a package of anti-bullying guidance, entitled
Safe to Learn: Embedding Anti-bullying Work in Schools.

ictopus
Ictopus (ICT online primary user support) is a support service for
primary education. Anyone can sign up for the service (free of
charge) to receive a weekly six page printable magazine and a set of
activity suggestions. There will also be a regular newsletter or
e-bulletin. These resources (and more) will be archived on the ictopus
website www.ictopus.org.uk
where there will also be access to classroom activities, software and a
variety of other resources and projects.

The DCFS announced the release of revised Programmes of Study for KS3
and KS4 on 12th July.

ICT Mark success
Congratulations to William Shrewsbury Primary School who, following a
half-day assessment, have been awarded the ICT Mark. They are the first
Staffordshire school to go through the full assessment process.
In conducting this (moderated) assessment Terry Gower has also become a
fully qualified ICT Mark assessor.

This was officially launched on March 30th 2006 at the National
motorcycle museum. The Framework will be available as on on-line tool from
