Agreed SyllabusStaffordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education was reviewed in 2004 and a revised version of the document was issued to schools in July of that year.
The Syllabus details the statutory requirements for all community, foundation and voluntary controlled schools in Staffordshire. All pupils on roll in these schools, from 3 to 19, are entitled to Religious Education in accordance with the Agreed Syllabus as part of the basic curriculum. Religious Education in Staffordshire focuses on the process of RE, using four attainment targets to provide a clear structure for planning.
The Programmes of Study for each key stage highlight concepts and learning experiences. Content can be chosen to reflect the nature of the school community, to build on the strengths of teachers, and to provide the best illustrations of the key questions under investigation.
